ATLANTA INTERNATIONAL FASHION WEEK Around the Corner…
Atlanta in recent years, has reminded me of a Fantasy Football sleeper pick…A noteworthy newcomer who is poised to explode in a shower of glory. Someone who is on the edge of the tipping point, and only requires that small gust of wind to the topple the peak. To me, this analogy represents Atlanta’s new a bright future in the entertainment world. It’s always been a major city, but that definition was backed by population counts, revenue streams and crime rates. Today the tables have turned, and Atlanta is now on the radar due its new-found interest in the culture and the arts.
Not to say it’s never been there…it has just now taken a more prominent seat in the opera house, from the mezzanine to the front row. Music, movies, television and fashion have begun to transform the city’s image into the sleeper of the entertainment world.
One reason this transformation is taking place, is the Atlanta International Fashion Week. The five-day event will be held July 24th – 29th and feature some of the world’s top designers and celebrities and help support the global aids epidemic through various charities. There are almost too many events and special appearances to describe so here is little bullet point chart to help give you a lay of the land.
